Introduction
Welcome to ‘An Evening of High Fantasy’, a musical theatre production by Prem Tinsulanonda International school, full of wonders and tragedies! Our ensemble of actors and actresses coming from all over the Senior School from G7 to G12! They have done so much to prepare for this with the help of the director Ajarn Ian Johnston and Music Academy teacher Ajarn Christopher Johnson. It will truly be a night of your fantasies! Enjoy!
Act 1 summary
The play starts with an introductory prologue to the main characters. We meet Cinderella, having a tough time of it with her stepmother and her wicked daughters, Jack and his mother, living in poverty with a beloved cow who won't give milk and the Baker and his wife- a hard-working couple who wish to have a child and the irrepressible Little Red Riding Hood.A wicked witch tells the Baker about a curse she placed upon his family, making his family barren. All the characters set off into the woods to find their fate.
Act 2 summary
Cinderella is married, the Baker and his wife have a child, Jack and his mother are rich, the beanstalk has been cut, the giant killed, the Witch's curse reversed and everything seems to be wonderful.
But events from earlier have repercussions and a slow, inexorable slide into tragedy occurs.
